Kurayami Matsuri

I went to the Kurayami Matsuri (Dark Night Festival), at Okuni-Tama Jinja Shrine. This festival has lots of floats with dancers that only pictures can describe, as well as really really big taiko drums, and horses running through the streets. Of course, lots of festival foods as well.

  2. Wow, did you just walk up to them and ask if you could take a picture in front of that huge drum? Very personable of those fellows.

I am wondering, do they usually have those caravans with the little plays going on inside them at most Matsuri, or is this one in particular that uses them?

  3. I’ve been to many other festivals, and this was the first time I’ve seen it.
