Zoorashia

I went with my friend to the zoo in Yokohama: Zoorashia. For the cheap entrance price it was a very nice zoo. The enclosures were very animal friendly, which sometimes made them hard to spot, but there were still plenty of interesting animals to see. The zoo is famous for its okapi but I really liked the polar bears.

If you come at the right time, you can see the elephant paint a picture.

I forgot what this is.

The penguin tried to eat my friends scarf.

Polar bears playing the water. It is amazing how well they can swim.

Oh no!

  2. The wildebeest, also called the gnu, is an antelope of the genus Connochaetes. It is a hooved (ungulate) mammal found in Africa mostly in Serengeti plains. (Strange color?)

  3. I will disagree with louis’ comment… that is certainly not a wildebeest.

I say it is a Takin.

  4. Louis agrees with Emily. It is the wrong color for a gnu. The takin comes in gold and is the national animal of Bhutan.

  5. What kind of kitty is that? Looks like clouds. Clouded leopard! It appears many animals in this zoo are found in Southeast Asia?

  6. What is that red bird?
